Hey Everyone. Its been a while since My last report, so thought I would just keep you guys up to date on whats been happening in My world.
Last weekend we had the final round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Culham motopark in Oxford. I was a little aprehensive going into the race, as I had 2 and a half weeks of the bike in order to allow my back and pelvis to heal up.Qualifying went really well, and I ended up 2nd behind Jake Nicholls, only 0.1 off his best time. I grabbed an awesome start in the first moto, and was running 2nd behind Jake the whole moto, until i got caught up with a back marker, which allowed Steven Clarke to get by on the 2nd last lap, I retaliated and almost got him at the flag. I ended up 3rd in the moto. The second race i didnt get a great start and had to work My way through the pack, I had a good pace going and by mid way I was up to 2nd, but was unable to reel the leader in and the gap stayed the same the whole race.I finished 2nd in that moto, and 2nd overall on the day, 1 point off the top step of the podium.
This weekend was the final round of the Maxxis British championship at the notouriously rough Hawkstone park circuit in Shropshire. Qualifying went good and I put a fast lap in on my last lap to claim 4th. In superpole, I managed to better my laptime, but stayed 4th, with the laptimes all really close, I knew it would be a good days racing. In the first moto, I didnt get the best start, I was around 9th on the first lap. by midway through the race, I was up to 4th, and after a good battle with Mel Pocock and Bryan Mackenzie, thats where i finished. In the 2nd race I got a much better start and was in 4th on the first lap, we had an intense pace going, and gapped the rest of the pack quickly, again i had a good battle with Bryan, but couldnt quite get the better of him, so I ended 4th again. In the last moto i was ready to give it all I had being the last race of 2011, I started around 6th, and moved into 4th a few laps in, again we had an almighty battle, giving it 100% right to the chequred flag around a now very beat up track, i crossed the line less than a second behind bryan, again 4th though. i was suprisingly 4th overall on the day. ha. It was a good day, and I gave everything I had all 3 races, my lap times were good, and my bike was awesome! A great way to end the season.
I will be doing Weston beach race this weekend, the British supercross series, and hopefully a few european supercross races this off season to keep me busy.I have had a really fun year, with some great results, I want to thank everyone involved for making 2011 possible: evotech stevens honda, rip n roll, troy lee designs, alpinestars, galvin, optic, lr design, putoline, twin air, muk junkie, surf n turf, pulse, fro systems, hardcore racing, dirtbike gym.
