The KTM Clutch slave cylinder is mounted in front of the counter shaft sprocket. The chain picks up small rocks, sticks etc and becomes caked with mud. When this happens it acts like a grinder against the clutch slave cylinder. The mud and debris being carried by the chain are displaced by the KTM hydraulic slave cylinder. This part is actually scraping the mud off the chain. Within a short time in these extreme conditions the casting can be worn through or cracked. Hydraulic pressure is then lost resulting in clutch failure and a costly bill to replace.

The Pulse Clutch Case Saver /Guard protect the clutch slave cylinder in critical areas. The Clutch Guard also acts as a case saver keeping the chain on the front sprocket and guiding it out and away in the event of a chain failure.
